Foot in Mouth

It has been funny lately to see Bella become a BIG girl. Sometimes she wants to be grown up, but other times she wants to still be a baby.

Examples of BIG girl Bella
- the biggest threat I need to give is "If you don't do it I will do it for you!"
-She only wears dresses and velour sweat suits
-She has no problem telling her friends what to do
-She can get up out of bed, peep on the potty and put herself back to bed

Then there is the baby Bella
-"Carry me, carry me, carry me. I don't know how to carry myself. My legs are tired."
-"NOOO I'm a baby not a big girl!"
-not using words but instead grunting like a baby and refusing to speak

But today she proved to me that she still has some baby left in her. While snuggling in bed with us this morning she picked up both of her bare feet and stuck them in her mouth! YUCK! and WOW! She is still that flexible, both of them, at the same time. Maybe I should start her in gymnastics now and work on retaining those hyperflexible ligaments.

It has happened, Santa will come

You know as a mother I had never quite decided on the Santa issue. Should we let our daughter think it was real and play along with the secular Christmas myth? Or should we be those conservative religious parents who will never lie to our children and always make sure then know the real reason for the season?

Well as most things in life go, if you don't decided for yourself some will decide for you. And in this case Isabella decided for herself that Santa is coming. Down the chimney, to be exact. I don't know where she learned this but Monday (just 6 days before Chrsitmas) we had the following conversation.

"Mom, after my nap we need to find my phone." (I have no idea which one is her phone.)
" Why?"
" Because we need to call Santa."
" Really, why do we need to call him?"
"To tell him I want a My Little Pony video."

okay....I'm sold. It was too cute. Thank goodness for Target.
So there is one My Little Pony DVD wrapped in Santa paper waiting to be put under the tree on Christmas morning.

And the myth will continue until she figures it out or starts asking for things I can't afford.

Bella's Princess Dress

The Princess Genevive dress from Grandma was a HUGE hit for Bella's birthday. She is actually jumping in the picutre. The true mark of it's approval was the enthusiatic, " Let's go hang it in my closet, Grandma!"
She wore it the next day at her party with great pride. She walked out with her chin held high, eyes batting, and arms floating out at her side. She loved playing the part of princess.

Her is the end of the party, Bella in her princess dress sitting in her chair. She was not happy to balloons tied to it though. Bella is so big that she knew exactly when to blow out her candles..right on cue. So great, we actually missed the picture of it.The Dora fairy castle cake was a day long project that I could NOT have done with out Grandma...thanks mom. Next year we will use a mold I pay $8.99 for at the cake store, swiss rolls instead of HoHo's, and POWERED sugar the first time we make butter cream frosting no matter what the cake book seems to say. Wait, next year will have to be a different cake, I might not get to use those lessons again, but I sure will remember the laughs we had making it.

Bella's Three

Here are a few pictures of my princess on her Birthday. Stories to follow.

Her actual birthday day she got to where her Bell dress to school for the first time. She has been wearing it weekly since Halloween, but it was never allowed to be worn to preschool until today.
At school she made a cake with her teacher and a few freinds. Then at snack time they put her in a crown, sang Happy Birthday, and ate the star shaped cake she had made. It was very fun, but mommy and daddy forgot the camera.
I am sorry. I have tried many times to post things about Bella and her birthday. Blogger just does not like me. I will try again one more time tonight to get picutres of the party, then I might give up until Auntie gets here to tell me what I am doing wrong.
