Origins of Cheese, with Dad

So momma went away this weekend to visit with some Mary Kay friends leaving Bella and I to spend some quality father-daughter time. Believe it or not, we actually didnt starve! Thank God mom went shopping for us before she left, which leads us to our important object lesson.

One of the delectibles left for us were chicken sausages with sweet fire roasted peppers and a five (yes count 'em, 5!) cheese blend. Mmmm, they were so delicious. Our dinner conversation went as follows:

"There is butter on the sausages," my spry little prodigy began.
"No, Bella, it's cheese."
"Cheese comes from sausages?"
"No, cheese comes from cows."
"No, MILK comes from cows." (Never mind that we drink only soy milk.)
"And cheese comes from milk," I vainly tried to reason with my three year old.
"No, Dad. Cheese comes from sausages. Look!"
"You're right, Bella. Cheese comes from sausages."
"Can I have some more sausages, please?"
"Yes, you may."

Very BIG at 3...she can climb a tree

She not only has a new desire to climb trees, she is gaining the ability to do so as well.
Loving the accomplishment!
Showing off her beautiful smile and nice little chin scrape from a fall off the swing at the park the week prior.
I guess as the mom I have to start getting used to the fact that she is big enough to do things for herself...and to really hurt herself.
All part of growing up.

A Day at the Beach

We got to spend our first day at the beach for the summer season. Isabella had more fun than ever building a sand castle with Dad, and being a ham for the camera. But she wanted nothing to do with the water. The waves were "scary." She told us that she was not a grown-up so she was not going to go in the water. She wouldn't so much as let the surf hit her toes.

Maybe, by August she'll be willing to get her feet wet.
